Round 1 of Big V has wrapped up. While round 1 did not bring home the results we were after, all four of our teams look to take the court at home over Saturday and Sunday, to get their first wins on the board.

A tough first game against Bellarine Strom saw the Men go down by 7 points
after a late rally in the fourth Quarter. The Stingrays were led by Cohen
Blythe and Michael Rebula who posted 17/1/6 and 15/9/2 respectively. While Marc
Goodwin Contributed 10/3/2 off the bench.
For the Storm Lewis Varley had a game high 22 points to go with 6 rebounds
and 6 assists while Seb Thomason had 21/4/2. The Storm also had a big
contribution from Jason Reardon who flirted with a triple double dropping
7/12/11 to go along with 3 blocks for the game.
The Stingrays will face the Camberwell Dragons at home on Sunday the 21st at
PRESTIGE JAYCO DIVISION 2 WOMEN
Our Division 2 Women had a tough game against finals mainstays Blackburn Vikings on Sunday. The women fought hard but were unable to get the win falling to the Vikings 48-66. The game was close, however the Vikings were able to pull away in the 4th Quarter to open up their lead to double digits and ultimately take the win.
For the Stingrays Zoe Donne lead the way with 10 points while Lauren Tipper posted 9/6/1 and Larni Jackson contributing 9/7/1. For the Vikings Grace Moxey had a game high 14 points along with 7 rebounds and 2 assists, she also added on 3 steals. Georgia Parnaby and Mikolina Sukirica both posted statlines of 12/8/2 and 10/8/3 to help steady the Vikings Ship.
Our Women look to take their first Win of the season against the Wallan Panthers on Saturday at the Geelong Arena at 8pm.
RAY WHITE YOUTH LEAGUE 1 MEN
An incredibly close game against the Frankston Blues saw our YLM go down by just 4 points in what was a tightly contested game.
Oliver Northam posted a team high 18 points to go along with 8 rebounds while young guns Jay Posterino and Jack Moran posted 16/3/1 and 15/6/1 respectively to help lead the offensive charge. Big Man Wang Nyieth was dominant on the boards grabbing 15 to go along with 13 points and 3 blocks.
However this was not enough to stop the Frankston Blues who backed up their Saturday night win with a team effort to get a tough away win at the Arena. Thomas Garret posted a team high 16 points to go with 5 rebounds and 2 assists while Josh Cleary gave the Blues 11 points to help share the scoring load.
RAY WHITE YOUTH LEAGUE 1 WOMEN
A low scoring affair has seen out YL1W go down to the Camberwell Dragons in their first away game of the season 34-43. A hard fought game saw the Dragons pull away in the 4th to take the win.
For our YL1W Emmy Nekrep led the way 13 points while Alice Irving contributed 8 points. Karli Bruce also posted 6/7/2 along with one steal.
For the Dragons Tiarnie Ellingworth had a team high 11 points to go with 4 steals while Catherine Seletto backed her up with 8/4 of her own.
Our YL1W look to get a win on the board Saturday at 6pm against the Frankston Blues at the Geelong Arena.
