Big V Round 10 Recap

Another weekend has passed with lots of Big V action. Check out all the results below!

JAYCO DIVISION 1 MEN

A tough opening term saw our men claw back a lead and never look back coming out 8 point winners, 91-83, over a tough Southern Pen team. a high scoring 1st quarter saw Southern Pen get hot from the 3 point line early. The Rays locked in defensively and were able to push themselves over the line. Giving up just 11 turnovers the ball was flowing on offence and being stifled on the defensive end. For the Rays Michael Rebula was huge with 17 points and 19 boards. He was backed up well by Cohen Blythe who had 17 and Max Kos with 12. For Southern Pen Matt Brasser and Corey Bond led the way with 26 and 22 respectively.

The Stingrays will now to look to keep the win streak going as they travel to Shepparton to take on the Gators on Saturday.

JAYCO DIVISON 2 WOMEN

Our division 2 women have made it three in a row taking care of the Collingwood Allstars by 10 points. Unfortunately the statistics for this game are unavailable. Our women will look to next week where they take on an inform Sherbrooke Suns.

RAY WHITE YOUTH LEAGUE 1 MEN

A tough day out for our men have seen them go down 71-106. A 37 point scoring outburst in the first quarter was too much for our men to overcome as Casey cruised into a 35 point win. Justin Ochaya led a even spread scoring night for the Cavs with 17 points. For Geelong United Jack Moran led the way with 18 and 9 while being backed up by Jay Posterino who contributed 16 of his own.

The boys look to get a win next weekend as they take on the Craigieburn Eagles at The Geelong Arena.

RAY WHITE YOUTH LEAGUE 1 WOMEN

A difficult time from the field saw our Youth League Women fall to the McKinnon Cougars 59-77. After jumping to a 6 points lead in the 1st quarter the Cougars were able to increase their buffer at each break ultimately giving them the 18 point win. For GU Chloe Skinner’s 20 points led the scoring, she was backed up by Vanessa Marsh’s 13. For the Cougars Hannah McGillen and Gabrielle Bafitis contributed 15 and 14 respectively.

Our Women will travel to Warrandyte to to take on the Venom next Saturday night.
