BIG V round 16 recap

A Big Weekend of Big V action saw a mixed bag of results, check out the recaps below!

Jayco division 1 men

A big double header weekend saw the Stingrays split their weekend matchups to climb to second on the ladder. A Saturday night trashing of Coburg saw the Rays hold the Giants to just 16 points in the first half. Max Kos led the way with 22 points and 6 threes in just 16 minutes while the entire team was able to register points on the board. For Coburg Dan Kusnyer had 15.

On Sunday the Rays ran out of legs with Collingwood getting away early and never looking back. Manny Hendrix was unstoppable for the Allstars dropping 40 on an efficient 55% shooting. For the Rays Marko Vekicโ€™s 14 topped the scoring for the home side.

The Rays will travel to Bulleen this Sunday to hopefully get back on the winning track against the Boomers.

Jayco division 2 women

A nail-biting win for our Women sees them grab a much needed win against the Collingwood All-Stars 56-54. Meg Hanna starred with 13 points 13 rebounds and 10 assists to record a triple double! For the All-stars Natasha Angelis top scored with 19.

The Women will head to Sherbrooke this weekend to take on the Suns.

Ray white youth league 1 men

A tough weekend for our Youth League Men saw them go down on Saturday against Altona 80-99. Jay Posterino led the way with 34 points for GU but it wasnโ€™t enough to overcome the Gators. Solomon Deer had 29 and 12 to steady the Gators.

On Sunday a tough loss by just 4 points to Bendigo was a disappointing end to a great game. Hamish Goodier nearly racked up a triple double with 28/8/9 but it was not enough to get the boys over the line. For Bendigo Kai Daneils recorded 12 points and 25 rebounds and 15 assists.

The boys will take on Craigieburn at home this coming Sunday.

Ray white youth league 1 women

A 12 point defeat saw our YL1W go down to the Eltham wildcats on Saturday night. Grace Speharโ€™s 13 and 9 led the way for GU. For the Wildcats a balanced scoring load saw 4 players reach double digits.

The girls will take on Craigieburn at home this Saturday.
