Jayco division 1 men
A trip to Shepparton for the return game of Division 1 men action saw a dominant second half for the Rays allowing them to pull away and grab a 17 point win 72-89 against the Gators. With just 10 players available the Stingrays put on a defensive display in the second half that was helped by some fantastic shooting from Tyler Erard to help carry the men to a win. Erardβs 9-12 from the field for 21 points in just 17 minutes paired with Cohen Blythe who also dropped 21 led the offensive attack for the Rays. For the Gators Sam Bekβs 20 and 10 was not enough to get them over the line. This win keeps the Rays in 2nd position on the ladder only behind undefeated Keysborough.
Jayco division 2 women
A tough night from the offensive end has seen our Women go down 34-98 in a dominant display of defence by the Sherbrooke Suns. Abby Loughhead led the scoring for the Rays with 8 points but it was all Sherbrooke for 4 quarters with Alicia Carline posting 29 and 11 to do most of the damage.
The Girls will look to bounce bank next weekend as they travel to Wangaratta.
Ray white youth league 1 men
A tough 3rd quarter has seen the Geelong United boys fall to a well drilled Collingwood Allstars team. An even spread of scoring for the boys saw Hamish Goodier, Jack Moran and Jay Posterino combine for 58 points but it was not enough to take down the Allstars. Jake Afoa dominated on the boards posting 22 points and 20 rebounds while Shakir Larchin led the scoring for the game with 26.
The Boys will look to grab a win as they take on Craigieburn next weekend.
Ray white youth league 1 women
A low scoring affair for the YL1Wβs return has seen our girls go down 42-56 to Warrandyte. Vanessa Marsh led the way with 10 and 10 but it was not enough to overcome the Venom as Meg Pattison and Taylah Heath both posted 10 points to help Warrandyte to a victory.
The Women look to next week where they will take on Sherbrooke.
