Colac Bulla Classic U12 & 14s Wrap-up

After a successful weekend for our Under 16s and 18s last weekend in Colac. Our under 12s and 14s teams headed up the highway to take on the Colac Bullas Classic. With 5 Girls and 5 Boys teams making the trip, the club has seen great success with many Semi and Grand Final finishes, including 3 Champions being crowned with our Under 14 Girls 1 and 2 taking out their respective divisions along with our 12 Boys 3. Check out how all our teams went below.

Under 12 Boys 1

Our Under 12 boys were a perfect 3 for 3 on Saturday, taking down Colac, Ballarat and Horsham is some hard-fought games. Unfortunately, it was not meant to be as the boys went down to a tough Warrnambool side 23-37 in the tournament Semi-Final. The boys ended the weekend on a high taking down Ballarat 43-14 to claim 3rd place in Division 1. Congratulations on a great weekend boys!

Under 12 Boys 2

Our 12 boys 2 ran into some tough competition this weekend in Colac. 1 win and 1 loss on Saturday, the latter being by just 1 point set them boys up for a Quarter Final with Warrnambool. An agonising 2 point loss put the boys out of finals contention. While the result wasn’t perfect, the experience the boys gained from the weekend will be invaluable for the rest of the VJBL season.

Under 12 boys 3

A dominant weekend from our 12 boys 3 saw them go undefeated on their way to claiming the Division 3 championship. Great wins against Bellarine, Warrachnabeal and Colac set up a Semi-Final with with Koroit. After a 32-9 victory the boys cruised to a 14 point win to claim the Championship against Warracknabeal. Congratulations boys on a great weekend!

Under 12 Girls 1

Our under 12 girls headed to Colac ready to rock, and rock they did. Claiming 3 big wins on Saturday against Warrnambool and Colac, while taking down Bellarine 45-6 to cap off the day. The girls moved on to the Semi-Fina and were all class as they handled Horsham on their way to the Grand-Final. A close-fought game against Warracknabeal saw the girls go down 17-20. While it wasn’t the final result the team was after, we are still very proud of the team and their efforts all weekend!

Under 12 Girls 2

Our 12 girls 2 joined our 12 girls 1 in Colac this weekend and enjoyed some of their own great success! Two big wins, including a 2 point thriller against Warrnambool, saw the girls take the court for the Semi-Final on Sunday. While the result didn’t fall in their favour, we want to congratulate the girls on a great weekend!

Under 14 Boys 2

Our 14 boys 2 hit the toad to take on Division 1 at Colac this weekend, the team came away with some great results against tough competition. A big win over Maryborough started the weekend strong, before a tough draw and 1 point loss against Hamilton and Colac respectively. It was not to be on Sunday as the boys went down to a good Warrnambool side in the Semi-Final.

Under 14 Boys 3

The 14 Boys 3 took on division 3 in Colac, 2 Big wins on Saturday against Bellarine and Colac set up a Semi-Final against Warrnambool on Sunday. A tightly contested game unfortunately did not fall the way of the boys, as they lost 39-50 against the Seahawks. While it wasn’t the result the team was after, we would still like to congratulate them on a great weekend.

Under 14 Boys 5

A big Saturday Saw the boys take 2 of their 3 games, including a 54-9 win over the Portland Coasters. A close Semi-Final game against Warracknabeal saw them boys irk out a 2 point win to send them to the Grand-Final. It wasn’t to be however as the boys went down to Surfcoast by 11 in a tough rematch from the day prior. Congratulations boys on a great tournament run!

Under 14 Boys 6

Our last boys team to head to Colac was the 14 boys 6. The boys had 3 tough games on Saturday that saw them come away with a win against Bellarine Storm. The boys followed this up with a win against the Port Fairy Pacers on Sunday before finishing off the weekend with a 42 point win over Portland. Congratulations to the team on a successful end to the weekend!

Under 14 Girls 1

Our under 14 girls 1 were firing on all cylinders at Colac this weekend. a Perfect day on Saturday saw Double-digit wins in all games, defeating Horsham, Portland and Colac with ease. a 19 point win on Sunday against Hamilton led to a Grand-Final Matchup against the Warrnambool Mermaids. Scoring 16 in the Championship game, Jada Button (Wildcats) helped lead her team to a 1 point thriller against other Mermaids. A great result from the team, we would like to congratulate them on taking out the title!

Under 14 Girls 2

Not to be outdone, our under 14 Girls 2 took to Colac and put everyone on notice with three statement wins against Warrnambool, Maryborough and Port Fairy. heading into the Semi-Final on Sunday the girls defeated Warrnambool by 11 to set up a Grand-Final against… Warnambool! Neither team was a match for the girls as they came away 15 point winners and Champions of Division 2. Congratulations girls on a great weekend!

Under 14 Girls 3

Our final girls team to take the court at Colac this weekend was our under 14 Girls 3. On Saturday the girls took two wins against Colac and Port Fairy in some tightly contested games. The wins pushed our girls through to the Semi-Final where they were unfortunately taken down by the Warrnambool Mermaids. While it wasn’t the final result the team was after, great development and team building was had, we would like to congratulate the girls on their efforts this weekend!
