Try Boys continued their winning ways this week as they overcame a close first half to defeat Rovers by 27 last night. All locked up at 36 a piece heading into halftime, the Bears put on the jets to outscore Rovers by 15 in the third, allowing them to cruise to the win by the final siren. SG KINGS 94 – LARA GIANTS 90

An absolute nailbiter has seen the Kings come away with another important win to keep them in the top half of the standings in Winter 2022. Leading by 2 at the half, the Kings were able to maintain control throughout the second half, outscoring the Giants by 6 in the final term to take the 4-point win. Will Macpherson continued his great season with 30, while for Lara, Jackson Bentley was again impressive dropping 41, including 7 threes.

PIVOT CITY 102 – SHARKS 71

Pivot has grabbed another important win as their undermanned lineup was too much for the Sharks to handle on Tuesday night. Taking a 15-point lead into the half, the Pivot men continued their dominance extending their lead, ending the game with a 31-point win. Cohen Blythe was brilliant for Pivot with 33, while for Sharks Brad Jones led the way with 20.

WILDCATS 78 – YMCA 71

A physical affair between Wildcats and YMCA has seen the Cats come away with a crucial 7-point win to maintain their spot on top of the Winter ladder. An 18-point lead at 3-quarter time was nearly erased by the hot shooting of Nathan Herbert last night, before some clutch shooting from the Wildcats veteran Nick Owusu, was able to secure themselves another impressive win. Phil Renteria and Herbert led all scorers with 27 each on the night.

SURFCOASTERS 97 – VYTIS 84

Another impressive outing from Romas Liebich was not enough to stop the fast-paced attack of the young Surfcoasters last night. An all-around scoring spread saw all rostered Surfcoasters hit double digits in a dominant 13-point win. Kuol Reech and Vincent Whelan both led the way with 20, while for Vytis Romas’ 28 was best on.
