The final week before the break, our teams are now on the home stretch of their seasons. Check out how our 4 teams did in Big V this week!
NAVEXA DIVISION 1 MEN
An extremely undermanned Stingrays Menβs team hit the road to Keysborough on Sunday to take on the Cougars, which saw them get blown out by 54 points in what was very much a game to forget. Suiting up just 7 able bodied players and missing coach Paul Hutchison, the Stingrays played with heart, but it wasnβt to be as the full strength Cougars cruised to victory. Michael Rebula (Vytis) and Lewis Beks (SG Kings) did their best to steady the ship for the Rays, however with little help it was always going to be a tough game.
The men will regroup through the next two weeks before returning home to take on the top of the ladder Melbourne Uni, looking to take some revenge on the Uni Blacks who slipped by for a win against the Rays, earlier this season.

NAVEXA DIVISION 2 WOMEN
A tight first half has seen our Division 2 Women surge home to claim an important win against the Surf Coast to keep them in finals contention. After leading by just 1 at the half, the Stingrays Women picked it up in the 3rd quarter to increase their lead to 7 heading into the fourth. The final 10 minutes went the way of the Stingrays, as Jessica Scannell and her 22 points and 20 rebounds led the Women to an important win as we cross into the final few rounds of the season.
The Women will look to gain Abby Loughhead and Carly Remmos back into their rotation after the break, where they will take on the Gators at the Geelong Arena on the 18th of June.

NAVEXA YOUTH LEAGUE 1 MEN
Our Youth League Men fell just short on Saturday night as they took on the Craigieburn Eagles. A 2 point loss, 60-58 saw our boys slip away from a very winnable game that would of kept them in the top half of the Big V ladder. With the NBL1 trio unavailable, it was Jackson Cone (Pivot City) who stepped up leading the way with 11 points, in the low scoring affair. The third quarter was rough the United boys as the managed just 4 points, letting their lead slip and ultimately setting up a 4th quarter where they simply could not regain the lead.
The team then headed to the Geelong Arena on Sunday looking to take a win against the Sherbrooke Suns. With a full roster available, the boys scoring woes continued as they struggled in the final quarter, ultimately falling 66-82. Denver Terrill (YMCA) led the way with 17 while Jay Posterino (Try Boys) backed him up with 16 of his own.
The boys will take the bye week and regroup before travelling to Warrandyte on the 18th to face the Venom.
