CHAMPIONSHIP WOMEN

SHARKS 74 – PIVOT 73

A one-point thriller has seen Sharks retain the top spot on the Women’s Championship ladder, downing Pivot 74-73. A high-scoring affair for both teams, the result came down to the final seconds as Pivot were unable to snatch a win on the buzzer. Alex Duck, Ebony Rolph and Georgia Varley led the way for Sharks all having 20, while for Pivot Eve Braslis and Antoniette Emma-Nnopu had 24 and 20 respectively.

CC EAGLES 68 – TRY BOYS 46

The Eagles have picked up an impressive win in round 10, downing the Bears by 22 points. A 9 point lead at the half was more than doubled heading into the final 10 minutes, as the Bears were unable to overcome the Eagles offensive attack. Summer Field led the way for the Eagles with 15, while Shania Soutar’s 19 was best on.

CHAMPIONSHIP MEN

PIVOT CITY 84 – ROVERS 65

Pivot City have propelled themselves back into the top 4 on the ladder in their 19-point win over Rovers last night. Gaining a 13-point lead heading into the quarter-time break, Pivot was in cruise control for the remainder of the game, ultimately pulling away for the 19-point win. An even spread of scoring saw 5 players in double figures, while for Rovers Jarvis Gleeson’s 22 and Tom Cushion’s 21 were best on.

WILDCATS 79 – LARA 70

Wildcats have grabbed another impressive win in round 10, downing the Lara Giants by 9 in a close contest. With every main break’s margin staying with 5, the short-handed Giants gave the Wildcats a scare before they steadied to remain undefeated on the season. Nick Owusu led the way with 20 and was backed up well by Phil Renteria’s 16. For Lara, scoring machine Jackson Bentley’s 23 led all scorers.

CC EAGLES 85 – SG KINGS 74

Christian College has collected a great win over SG Kings, who after starting slow were nearly able to claw back an upset win on the night. A 24-1 first quarter saw the Kings unable to take the lid off the basket as they fell to a 24-point deficit at halftime. Slowly clawing back they were able to get it to within single digits through the 4th quarter, however, were ultimately unable to overcome the deficit. Will Macpherson kept his hot streak going with 25 while the Eagles had 6 players in double figures.

VYTIS 73 – SHARKS 62

Vytis has grabbed a great 11-point win over Sharks in round 10 after a shaky first half. Down 11 through the first 10 minutes of action, the Knights were able to claw back a lead of 3 heading into the final 10. Locking down defensively, Vytis were able to outscore the Sharks 14-6 to claim the 11-point win. Michael Rebula led the way with 23 while for the Sharks, Lachie Wilson’s 28 was best on.

YMCA 90 – SURFCOASTERS 71

The final game of the night saw Nathan Herbert unleash for 27 points, leading his side to a 19-point win over Surfcoasters. Trailing by 2 at the half. The Y turned it on offensively, outscoring the Bells 47 to 26. For the Surfcoasters, Jack Moran led all scorers with 28.
