Geelong United Basketball played host to Basketball Victoria’s latest Club Coach Accreditation Course at Leisuretime Sports Precinct on Saturday.
Convened by two-time Olympian Peter Byrne, 17 participants took the opportunity to increase their coaching knowledge.
The Club Coach Accreditation Course is required to be the head coach of VJBL club’s first to third teams, the head coach of a CBL or Big V Youth League team, and the assistant/development coach of a State team or an NBL1 or Big V open-age program.
The next course to be hosted by Geelong United Basketball will be Association Coach Accreditation, held across two days – Saturday, July 29 and Saturday, August 12.
That accreditation is needed for those aspiring to be the head coach of a state team or an NBL1 or Big V open-age program.
