Try Boys have maintained touch with the Geelong United Basketball Women’s Winter Championship top four after a narrow 57-53 win over Surfcoasters at AWA Alliance Bank Stadium on Tuesday night.
After leading by 12 points at halftime, the Bears had to withstand a third-quarter burst from Surfcoasters that tied the scores at three-quarter time.
Try Boys claimed victory with a 14-10 final term.
Shania Soutar (18 points) and Kayla Blazko (13) did the bulk of the damage for the Bears.
Amelia Jovic (16 points) and Annie Poon (15) almost carried Surfcoasters to victory.

Wildcats had little trouble in overcoming YMCA by 71 points at AWA.
Twenty-seven points from Jasmine King, 26 from Chantelle Hall, and 21 from Sarah Elsworthy, meant Wildcats had scoring threats all over the floor in the 109-38 victory.
Harmony Parker worked hard for 13 points to lead Y.
CC Eagles forfeited to Sharks.
Pivot City had the bye.
