There might have been only one Geelong United Basketball Women’s Winter Championship match played on Tuesday night, but it was one of the best of the season.
Pivot City took another step towards securing a top-two finish with a narrow 72-71 result against YMCA.
With Eve Brasalis not suiting up for Pivot, Ella Tofaeono picked up the slack in fine style with a 38-point performance.
Miley Dawkins (14 points) and Evie Perez (11 points) were an able support cast to Tofaeono’s starring performance.
Teenager Harmony Parker’s 21 points almost dragged Y over the line.
Experienced big Kim Hammond finished with 14 points before fouling out, with Molly Kent also contributing 14.
Sharks and Wildcats received forfeits from Surfcoasters and CC Eagles, respectively.
Try Boys had the bye.
