Geelong United Basketball (GUB) is delighted to welcome Megan Moody as our General Manager of Pathways.
Moody is a highly-respected figure in our sport after a playing career that included four years at US College Tulsa, overseas stints in Turkey, Spain, Italy, and time with WNBL clubs Dandenong Rangers and Bendigo Spirit.
Since retiring, Moody was a development officer with Basketball Victoria and served as the inaugural Bendigo Hub lead coach.
She also guided the Bendigo Braves women to the 2018 SEABL Championship while also serving as an assistant coach with WNBL club Bendigo Spirit.
Most recently, Moody was the operations manager at Melton Basketball Association.
“When the position at Geelong United Basketball became available, I jumped at the opportunity to be involved,” Moody said.
“I’m looking forward to working closely with our teams in our Pathways program – from VJBL to NBL1.
“There are exciting times ahead, and I’m looking forward to being part of them.”
CEO Mark Neeld said the addition of Moody was a coup for GUB.
“To have a person of Megan’s quality keen to be part of Geelong United Basketball is a testament to the position GUB is in,” he said.
“We looked forward to Megan impacting our Pathways program.”
Neeld also paid tribute to the work done by Di Forsyth, who stepped down from her position with GUB last week.
“The work done by Di since the merger of Basketball Geelong and Corio Bay Basketball Association has been pivotal in that transition,” he said.
“She has laid an excellent foundation for Megan to work from as we look to grow our Pathways program.
“We wish Di well for the future and are forever grateful for her contribution.”
Moody joins community competition administrators Jessica Hanger and Daniel Willmott as recent additions to GUB’s staff.
