Host ninth-placed Melbourne Tigers at AWA Alliance Bank Stadium, needing a win to be any chance of snatching an elimination final berth. If GU can topple the Tigers, it will be hoping for either Frankston or Waverley to lose to lower-ranked Altona and Collingwood, respectively.

UNDER-16 GIRLS

16G1 – VC Champ (6th) – vs. Dandenong (7th) @ Dandenong Stadium, 9:40pm

A simple equation for Geelong United if it wants to be part of finals action – beat seventh-placed Dandenong and hope that ninth-placed Casey can upset fifth-placed Kilsyth.

16G2 – VJL2 (7th)

A loss to ninth-placed Melbourne Tigers has ended Geelong United’s season. GU finished equal on points with fifth-placed Bulleen and sixth-placed Keilor but finished seventh on head-to-head.

Remain on track to go through the season undefeated after overcoming Altona, 40-28. Geelong United will now enjoy a week off before meeting Keilor or Craigieburn in a second semi-final.

16G4 – VJL7 (3rd) – vs. Sunbury (2) @ Eagle Stadium – Werribee, 8:40pm

After holding off Collingwood for a 27-25 victory at Collingwood College, Geelong United will face Sunbury in a qualifying final to open the playoffs. The Jets won both meetings in the regular season.

UNDER-16 BOYS

16B2 – VJL4 (2nd) – vs. Melbourne Tigers (2) @ Eagle Stadium – Werribee, 8:40pm

Will take a psychological buffer into a qualifying final meeting with Melbourne after beating the Tigers by 10 points, 50-40, in the final round. The Tigers won the Round 9 meeting, 40-35.

16B3 – VJL5 (3rd) – vs. Whittlesea (2) @ Eagle Stadium – Werribee, 8:40pm

16B4 – VJL8 (4th) – vs. Coburg (3) @ Eagle Stadium – Werribee, 8:40pm

A 14-point final-round loss to bottom-placed Whittlesea means Geelong United will have to come via an elimination final if it’s to claim the title. Will meet Coburg for the second time in three weeks hoping for a repeat of the one-point win just a fortnight ago.
