Geelong United Basketball (GUB) is seeking expressions of interest for VJBL Trials CoordinatorsΒ for the upcoming 2023/24 VJBL Tryouts.
Trial Coordinators will be appointed exclusively for the duration of the tryout process and will oversee a specific age group to complete the following tasks:
- Coordinate age-group coach cohort for trials, including attendance at relevant domestic games.
- Attend and conduct on-court trial sessions.
- Assist in the final selection of athletes to the appropriate team.
- Assist in the appointment of coaches to selected teams.
The duration of this role is approximately four weeks, including:
- The observation of two rounds of Geelong United Basketball’s Community Competition.
- Two weekends of scheduled VJBL trials.
VJBL Trial Coordinators will execute their role in partnership with GUB Director of Coaching Matthew Paton.
IMPORTANT
Appointment to a VJBL Trials Coordinator position DOES NOT exclude a candidate from consideration for a VJBL team coaching position. A candidate can complete their responsibilities as a VJBL Trials Coordinator BEFORE assuming a VJBL Coaching role, should they be offered a team appointment.
An honorarium will be offered to those appointed to this role.
