Geelong United Basketball (GUB) is proud to welcome Emily Todorov as our new Technical Officials Development Manager.
Emily comes with a wealth of experience as a referee, starting her officiating journey at the age of 14 – “It’s been a long journey, having now had the privilege of officiating at Junior National Championships, several Big V finals series, attended the AIS referee camp, and the New Zealand Junior tournament,” Todorov said.
Emily’s strong background also includes the past 4 years as part of the NBL1 Referee Panel – providing her with insights into high-level officiating, and a key role with Basketball Victoria – “I previously served as the TOD VJBL Development Officer at Basketball Victoria, developing young referees across Victoria. This also saw me take on the position of referee commissioner for the Southern Cross Challenge, National Junior Classic, and the Metro Jamboree.”
For the past 8 years, Todorov has also served as a Development Officer in Melton and Bacchus Marsh, gaining valuable experience in grassroots basketball referee development.
Regarding her new role, Emily looks forward to assisting GUB into the future, and helping referees around the region get to the next level – “I’m enthusiastic about the opportunity to contribute to GUB Referee Development, and continue the excellent work already in progress.”
Please join us in welcoming Emily Todorov to the GUB team.
