Geelong United is excited to welcome our newest addition to the NBL1 Men’s roster, Desmond Owili.
The 203cm Kenyan centre brings previous NBL1 experience to the side, suiting up for both Kilsyth and most recently Diamond Valley, where he averaged 4 rebounds and 13.5 points per game shooting at an impressive 92.86 percent from the field.
Geelong United Men’s Head Coach Grant Wallace gave high praise to his new recruit – “Des is a big addition to our roster for 2024 and provides a key we were missing last season.Β His ability to run the floor, rebound, defend opposition bigs and switch out to defend the guards is crucial. He competes every minute he is on the floor, in training and games, and he will make us better.Β Above all else, he is a sensational person and teammate and I know he will quickly become a favourite of our home crowds in Season 2024.”
