Geelong United is excited to welcome our newest addition to the NBL1 Womenβs roster, Jada Rice.
The University of Alabama graduate joins Geelong after being a key part of the NBL1 Central’s Norwood Flames championship winning team in 2023.
Rice – A 6 foot 4 center, will be a pivotal piece to the Geelong United lineup both on the offensive and defensive end, averaging 8.64 points (shooting at 44.14% from the field), 1.36 assists, and an impressive 10.29 rebounds per game. But it was a standout performance in June of last year that got the attention of Geelong United – With 14 points, 2 blocks, and a whopping 21 rebounds against the Southern Tigers.
Signed with Geelong on a one year deal, Jada is ready for another big season in new surroundings: “Iβm super excited and grateful to get to be a part of the GUB family this season. I’m looking forward to meeting and getting to know everyone! I can’t wait to give my all and see how the upcoming season unfolds.”
Jada now joins the ranks of a team under new leadership, with the signing of new head coach Jamie Petty announced yesterday, and teammates Sarah Elsworthy, Eve Braslis and more hoping to go a step further than last season, falling one game short of a South Conference Grand Final appearance.
