Once again, our squads won 2 of 4 games across the weekend – A pair of home game wins on Saturday night, including a 1 point thriller for the men, but then an unlucky road trip to Frankston on Sunday.

BIG V YOUTH LEAGUE WEEKEND WRAP:

Once again, it was 1 win and 1 loss for the weekend from our Big V Youth League teams – The Men’s squad with a 9 point win on the road, while the Women’s squad played a tough home game, winning the second half, but unable to make up enough ground for the win.

GUB WELCOMES SIMON NICHOLSON:

Geelong United Basketball (GUB) is proud to welcome Simon Nicholson as our new Coach & Athlete Development Manager.

The Coach & Athlete Development Manager role is a new position created at GUB, designed to oversee all components of Geelong United Basketball’s VJBL Pathway’s Program. Simon will lead the design, implementation and review of our program, while promoting a positive image for Geelong United Basketball through his professional delivery of service.

It was another great turnout for our Coach Development Sessions last week as NBL1 Men’s head coach, Grant Wallace hosted the “Keys To Developing A Better Shooter” session – A lot of valuable information shared to help our local coaches guide our future superstars along on their basketball journey.

Next up, Grant Wallace is back as he hosts “Basics In Developing A Half Court Man to Man Defence – GU NBL1 Men’s Rules In The Half Court,” Tuesday, June 4

VJBL LASERQUEST UNITED TEAMS OF THE WEEK:

It was another great night of VJBL action last Friday night.

The Laserquest United Teams Of The Week honours this week though go the U14B8 team who had a big win, and the U16G2 squad who got over the line in a 1 point thriller!
