WNBL UPDATE:
We’ve got our first piece of big WNBL news coming, as we now officially have a coach… But if you want to know who it is, you’ll have to keep an eye on our socials for the big reveal later this week.
We’re also excited to announce our official WNBL launch party is coming soon!
Save the date, as we get set to party on June 22 at the Geelong Arena, coinciding with our NBL1 home game against the Hobart Chargers.
NBL1 WEEKEND WRAP:
Just the one game for both sides across the weekend.
For the women, after a slow start in the first half, they came out firing after the main break to run away by 18 points over Launceston.
The men weren’t so lucky though, in what was a back and forth contest, they were bested in the final minutes by NW Tasmania.
Women:
Geelong 88 – Launceston 70
Men:
Geelong 81 – NW Tasmania 89
It’s a road double header for both sides this weekend, as we make the long trip over the SA border to face Mt Gambier on Friday night, then back on the road to Eltham on Sunday afternoon.
We’ve got a couple of weeks on the road ahead before returning home on Saturday, June 15! It’s Roderick Round, featuring the YMCA Basketball Club, with thanks to Roderick Insurance Brokers.

The panel features Kelly Cartwright (Paralympic Gold Medallist), Ali Waight (Queenscliff FNC President), Emma Daffy (All-Abilities & Lara FNC Netballer) + a special guest panellist.

See you there!
BIG V YOUTH LEAGUE WEEKEND WRAP:
It was another big weekend of Big V Youth League action, with the men on the road on Saturday night, and the women at home yesterday.
Both teams unfortunately came up short, but with some promising signs on the stat sheet.
Both teams are hitting the road this weekend:
