ACTIVE INCLUSION WORKSHOP:
One of the core values of Geelong United Basketball Association is “Inclusive”.
To celebrate this, and the launch of our Girls Who bALL program, we’re hosting a FREE in-person Active Inclusion Workshop in partnership with Leisure Networks and Welcoming Clubs. The event is supported by the Change our Game initiative and the City of Greater Geelong.
Whether you’re a seasoned coach or just getting started, this workshop is packed with practical strategies to improve your inclusive coaching.
We’ll also cover relevant concepts to help you learn how to make your club a more welcoming and inclusive place for everyone to experience the joy of sport at your club.
If you’re a volunteer, coach, or committee member at a club or community sports provider in the City of Geelong, or nearby areas, this one’s for you!

Come, socialise and join in the fun!
We’ve teamed up with Basketball Victoria with our latest program, aimed at women and gender diverse people to get active and learn some basic basketball skills in a fun, friendly, and non-competitive environment.

NEW PROGRAM – GIRLS WHO bALL:
The day that many of you have been waiting for has arrived!
Registrations are now open for the Girls Who bALL Program!
Girls Who bALL is a FREE 4-week introductory basketball program designed for women and young girls with disabilities.
Sessions run for 45 minutes and focus on skill development, understanding the game, and building confidence while making new friendships!
PROGRAM DETAILS:
WHEN: Wednesdays, August 14, 21, 28, & September 4
TIME: 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
WHERE: AWA Stadium, Crows Road Belmont
Even if you can’t attend all four sessions, feel free to register and join us for as many as you can!

NEW PROGRAM – BASKETBALL BEGINNINGS:
It all starts here!
Basketball Beginnings is a GIRLS ONLY program aimed to bring girls together through basketball.
In this program, they will learn the rules and develop basic skills to increase their confidence before potentially joining a community club.

UNDER 8’S COMPETITION:
Are you looking to enter your child into their first ever basketball competition?
Under 8’s is the perfect starting point, available both as a mixed comp, and for the first time, a 𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 comp – Both played every Saturday during the summer season (excluding holiday periods).

BIG V YOUTH LEAGUE UPDATE:
Week 1 of finals saw both Men’s and Women’s Navexa Youth League squads walk away winners.
Our teams will now hit the road for week two as we look to keep this finals momentum going.
VJBL LASERQUEST UNITED TEAMS OF THE WEEK:
Some great results and efforts once again by our VJBL Geelong United Teams last Friday night.
This week though Laserquest Team of the Week honours go to the 𝗨𝟭𝟰𝗚𝟯, 𝗨𝟭𝟰𝗕𝟰, 𝗨𝟭𝟲𝗚𝟭 & 𝗨𝟭𝟲𝗕𝟱 squads.

VJBL 2025 TRY OUTS:
VJBL try outs are opening soon!
With 52 teams currently across under-12s, under-14, under-16s, under-18s and under-20s, we’re expecting to set a new record of tems to represent Navexa Geelong United.
Try outs will be held at AWA Alliance Bank Stadium, 20 Crows Road, Belmont. Make sure you save the following dates:
