To ensure that we can continue to deliver competitions for all age groups and ability levels, it has become necessary to adjust our prices in response to the increasing costs of doing so.

LASERQUEST UNITED TEAMS OF THE WEEK:
Finals are underway, which means that for some, their season has come to an end – And it’s those teams we’d like to acknowledge this week, celebrating their efforts in a hard fought season.
This week’s Laserquest United Team of the Week honours go to the U14B10, U16B13, U18B5 & U18B7 squads.

SUPER CAMPS ARE BACK:
Spring school holidays are fast approaching, and we’ve got another exciting basketball extravaganza in store!
Boys and girls camps will be held on September 24-25, and October 1-3.
Girls only camp will be held for one day only on September 26.

The Next Step program is your opportunity to be involved in VJBL-like training sessions to show the skills and areas of development that playing VJBL focuses on.

NEW COMPETITION DATES – Summer Season 24/25:
Pleased be advised, the GUB Community Team have recently conducted a full review of our community competitions.
This process was undertaken to review the competitions that GUB offer, as well as the nights and times that they play, to see if there are alternatives that better cater to the community competition participants’ needs.

GEELONG UNITED ANNUAL TOURNAMENT – KORR KORR NGITJI:
GUB will once again be holding a celebration of our sport by Coming Together (Waddawurrung: Korr Korr Ngitji) at a festival of basketball this November!
Now in its third year, the tournament will be held this coming November across the six venues that host Geelong United’s community games each week.
Over the course of the weekend, teams will play a minimum of four games against other VJBL clubs, country associations and community teams from across the nation.
In addition to the tournament, GUB will also be holding several development clinics and courses directed at community and club coaching, score table officials, and referees.

Does your child want to be a star of the future?
The Future United Stars program is a skill development program that will teach players how to be able to play competitively.
This 8 week program will be delivered by head coach, Simon Nicholson – GUB’s Coach & Athlete Development Manager.

Come, socialise and join in the fun!
We’ve teamed up with Basketball Victoria with our latest program, aimed at women and gender diverse people to get active and learn some basic basketball skills in a fun, friendly, and non-competitive environment.

NEW PROGRAM – GIRLS WHO bALL:
The day that many of you have been waiting for has arrived!
Registrations are now open for the Girls Who bALL Program!
Girls Who bALL is a FREE 4-week introductory basketball program designed for women and young girls with disabilities.
Sessions run for 45 minutes and focus on skill development, understanding the game, and building confidence while making new friendships!
PROGRAM DETAILS:
WHEN: Wednesdays, August 14, 21, 28, & September 4
TIME: 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
WHERE: AWA Stadium, Crows Road Belmont
Even if you can’t attend all four sessions, feel free to register and join us for as many as you can!

Basketball Beginnings is a GIRLS ONLY program aimed to bring girls together through basketball.
In this program, they will learn the rules and develop basic skills to increase their confidence before potentially joining a community club.
