Pleased be advised, the GUB Community Team have recently conducted a full review of our community competitions.
This process was undertaken to review the competitions that GUB offer, as well as the nights and times that they play, to see if there are alternatives that better cater to the community competition participants’ needs.
A key goal is to shuffle some or all competitions around in a way that enables all of them to grow in team numbers, without compromising other preferences and needs that participants have for their competitions. i.e. No 10 pm game times, no games starting before 4:30 pm, each age group on each night of play having the option of 3 or more timeslots and playing at timeslots that are suitable to their age.
The following changes have been made (TO TAKE EFFECT FROM THIS COMING SUMMER SEASON):
Changes to grades have considered the following:
- Make room for the growth of all competitions
- Allow a bigger variety of time slots
- Maintains age-appropriate time slots
- Takes into consideration clashes with other sports
- What would work well for the supply of referees
