Our inaugural WNBL roster is now complete, with 3 new additions announced last week – Taylor Mole, Daniel Raber and Lynetta Kizer.

SERENITY IN THE STADIUM:
This World Mental Health Day, join us at GMHBA Stadium for a unique yoga experience that blends tranquility with community spirit.
Whether you’re an experienced yogi or just starting out, this event is about more than just yoga. It’s a chance to connect, support each other, and embrace movement and mindfulness in a supportive setting.
Be part of this inspiring journey toward better mental health. Together, we can make a difference and highlight the importance of mental wellness.
- What: A mass Yoga event for up to 2000 people on GMHBA Stadium
- When: Thursday 10th of October, 7am
- Why: This event will run on World Mental Health Day to highlight the importance of physical activity and social connection on mental health outcomes.

Who: The event is a collaboration between two NFP organisations, Read the Play & Active Geelong, and will act as a fundraiser for their important work in advocating for physical activity and positive mental health in the region. The event is supported by Plan Group, Beyond Bank, Kardinia Park Stadium Trust, GMHBA, Times News Group, City of Greater Geelong and Kempe Engineering.

VJBL PRESENTATIONS:
Round two of VJBL presentations were held over the weekend, as our players were celebrated for their achievements throughout the season.

VJBL TRYOUTS:
VJBL tryout registrations are now officially open!
All tryouts will be held at AWA Stadium – 20 Crows Rd. Belmont.

Spring school holidays are fast approaching, and we’ve got another exciting basketball extravaganza in store!
Boys and girls camps will be held on September 24-25, and October 1-3.
Girls only camp will be held for one day only on September 26.

GEELONG UNITED ANNUAL TOURNAMENT – KORR KORR NGITJI:
GUB will once again be holding a celebration of our sport by Coming Together (Waddawurrung: Korr Korr Ngitji) at a festival of basketball this November!
Now in its third year, the tournament will be held this coming November across the six venues that host Geelong United’s community games each week.
Over the course of the weekend, teams will play a minimum of four games against other VJBL clubs, country associations and community teams from across the nation.
In addition to the tournament, GUB will also be holding several development clinics and courses directed at community and club coaching, score table officials, and referees.

GEELONG UNITED ANNUAL TOURNAMENT – REFEREES EXPRESSION OF INTEREST:
GUB will once again be holding a celebration of our sport by Coming Together (Waddawurrung: Korr Korr Ngitji) at a festival of basketball this November!
But we need your help to make all the games across the weekend run as smoothly as possible.
Expressions of interest are now open to join this years referee ranks, giving you the opportunity to ref multiple games paired with fantastic per game pay rates!

The Future United Stars program is a skill development program that will teach players how to be able to play competitively.
This 8 week program will be delivered by head coach, Simon Nicholson – GUB’s Coach & Athlete Development Manager.

Come, socialise and join in the fun!
We’ve teamed up with Basketball Victoria with our latest program, aimed at women and gender diverse people to get active and learn some basic basketball skills in a fun, friendly, and non-competitive environment.

Are you a journalism and/or photography student looking to gain experience in sports coverage?
We’re on the hunt for volunteers to assist us in the coverage of community club, VJBL and Big V competitions.
In these roles, you’ll submit weekly in season photos and/or articles, to be posted on the Geelong United Basketball website with full writing and photography credits listed.
