Geelong United Basketball (GUB) is excited to announce the addition of another important piece to our women’s roster, with Lilly Rotunno signing on for the upcoming NBL1 South season.
Suiting up for Keilor in 2024, Lilly averaged 6.92 points, 3.04 assists, 3.08 rebounds and 1.52 steals per game, which included two 12 point outings against Diamond Valley and Melbourne.
As a former WNBL development player with the now defunct Melbourne Boomers, Rotunno comes highly recommended by United’s WNBL Head Coach Chris Lucas, who will oversee the development of our women’s program. “Lilly’s a terrific young talent, but even better person,” Chris said. “She fits our Geelong culture – An extremely hard working developing point guard who wants to get better, and will put in the work to prove here game.”
As for the season ahead, Lilly is ready to join her team and get things underway, “I’m super excited to join Geelong for the upcoming NBL1 season,” she said. “We have an extremely talented roster, along with great coaching staff who I’m keen to work with.”
Joining a team stacked with WNBL talent, Lilly is confident there are big things in store for the season, “With this group I believe we can be a championship winning team.”
