The undoubted talent of Ella Tofaeono has been recognised at the next level, with the Hoop City Geelong United NBL1 star to ply her trade in the WNBL this summer.
Tofaeono has signed as a development player with the Townsville Fire after impressing coach Shannon Seebohm with her performances for Geelong United after arriving on the eve of the NBL1 season from US College Texas Tech.
“I am so excited to be a part of this team,” Tofaeono told the Fire’s website.
“(I’m) feeling extremely grateful, excited, and blessed about the opportunity to learn and develop under Shannon, his assistants, support staff, as well as my incredible teammates.
“It’s gonna be another remarkable year for the team, and I look forward to being a part of it!
“(I) can’t wait to get to work on court, get involved in the community, and get behind my teammates.”

The 190cm Sydney product, whose infectious smile made her a fan favourite with United fans averaged 12.1 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 1.9 assists, in helping Geelong United to a preliminary final.
Tofaeono, who commenced pre-season today (Monday), joins Indiah Bowyer as a Fire development player.,
