The Navexa Geelong United Youth League Men will get another test of their playoff credentials when it hosts second-placed Wyndham at Geelong Arena on Saturday night.
After splitting last week’s road double, with a win over Camberwell and a loss to ladder-leader Hume City, a win over the Devils will keep United in the top-two mix.
Coach Luke Beard will be hoping to have Ethan Nicholls part of the roster after he missed last weekend through injury and that Marach Marach overcomes an ankle sprain suffered in the first half against the Broncos.
“We’re really excited to test ourselves against another top-five aspirant in Wyndham.
“They have built a strong roster, but I think we match up well on their key playmakers.
“We will be backing in our team to continue to push the pace with the ball and bring a level of defensive intensity that disrupts their game plan.”
For the Navexa Geelong United Youth League Women, Wyndham will provide a stern test as the halfway mark of the season approaches.
The Devils sit fourth with a 6-2 record, while Jason Bannerman’s girls remain in the hunt for sixth spot despite holding a 3-6 record.
